Core Team Meeting Minutes

July 13, 2023

Opening:

The Meeting called to order by Carrie Mullins at the Alcona EMS Building on M72 at 6:06pm.

Business:

Resignations

Discussion regarding non-payment of dues resignations. Larry Brozowski and Gary Wnuk are both no longer members of the Executive Committee due to automatic removal due to non-payment of our party dues.

Alcona County Fair Sign

Our new banner has been delivered to the Alcona County Fair, and this is the first time we’ve been a sponsor on this level!

Donations

John and Sandy Scanlon donated $500 and sent a card. There was also a plantinum membership.

Trump Signs

Because the only way to get Trump signs is from his website, Carrie was asked to do some signs for the Alcona GOP.

Judy moves to allow Carrie to design a Trump sign 18×24 for under $5 each with wires, to sell for $10 each with a cap of $250 spent total on the signs order. Motion seconded by Danica. No discussion.

Good Neighbor Program Launched

There are multiple classes and an exam at the end for MIGOP certification to be a “Good Neighbor”. This fostered discussion on the roles of the MIGOP/Congressional Districts/County Parties. Transparency these days are better than under the Weiser administration. The old administration released a new set of Bylaws just before the new administration took over.

2024 County Elections

In 2024, all county positions will be up for reelection. Township positions as well.

Miscellaneous Discussions

Stabenow is out.

Talked about selling signs.

Talked about reengaging the lost Precinct Delegates who have seemingly disappeared.

Talked about possible fundraising opportunities for the fair.

Talked about recruiting members and what we do here at the ACR.

Will add a second candy jar to make some additional funds at the fair. (One was already donated to the Fair.)

Treasurer Needed

We need a treasurer. Jeff Dobbs has volunteered to do this as well as Vice Chair, but still with only 1 vote on the Executive Committee. Judy French motions to accept Jeff Dobbs as treasurer. William seconds the motion. No discussion.

Motion passes and Jeff Dobbs is now our treasurer. The Oath of Office was given.
