MRP State Committee Meeting Results
Carrie talked about the recent State Committee meeting she attended, where things such as the January 6th meeting was held, how it was held, and how it was scheduled. There is ongoing litigation, and the RNC still has yet to decide if it will or will not intercede into this fiasco. Currently, the people who did the January 6th meeting is stating that not only did they remove Kristina Karamo from her position as Chairwoman, but that they have elected Peter Hoekstra as the new MIGOP Chair.
Focusing Locally
Regardless of the drama within the MIGOP currently, it is still upon us to continue our work within our local communities, and one good way to do so, is to use the Good Neighbor Program that was set up by Kristina Karamo’s team. Essentially, if you are a good neighbor to those within your communities, you can help the fight against those who wish to further centralize and undermine local authority. Being a good neighbor can be as easy as providing help to those in need (regardless of political affiliation), being active in your local communities, and becoming a reliable source of knowledge to those who are confused with the on-goings of today’s world. Honestly, we should all aim and endeavor to be better neighbors.

Alcona County Convention – February 15th at 7pm
At the County Convention, we will elect 4 delegates and 4 alternates for the March 2nd Convention. Jaynee Germond has sent Carrie an email stating that she would like to be considered for a spot as either Delegate or Alternate. The date of the State Convention is March 2, 2024 and it will be held at the Huntington Place, in Detroit, MI. The deadline for consideration for Delegate and Alternates is 4pm on the 15th of February. However, there can still be nominations from the floor at the county convention. Also, there will be a charge of $40 per voting Delegate and $20 for alternates at the District Convention.
