Opening:
The meeting was called to order by Carrie Mullins at the Alcona EMS building on M72 at 7:02pm.

Business:
Chairman’s Welcome
We are here to elect our new officers for the next term. 25-26 election cycle, we need to get rid of the three main Democrats in Michigan. We need good candidates for those three spots. (Gov, SoS, & AG). Runestead has put his name in for MIGOP Chair. Hoekstra is now going to Canada as Ambassador. Kristina Karamo is likely going to be prohibited from running. MIGOP’s new chair will be elected at the February convention. Dates are to be determined at the December 14th State Committee meeting, supposedly.
County Convention
Motion to appoint Carrie as Chair of Convention and Jess as Secretary of Convention. Motioned by Judy, seconded by Jeff. Motion passes. Oaths of convention offices taken.
August 26, 2024 precinct delegates are allowed to vote. (Everyone but Frank Grubbs and Nelson French can vote.)

Votes were hand counted by Jess Dobbs.
Judy French has officially moved from Harrisville Township, to Haynes Township. Therefore, she needs to be removed as Precinct Delegate from Harrisville Township and elevated to Precinct Delegate for Haynes Township.
Motion to remove Judy French from Harrisville Township, and place her in Haynes Township, moved by Jeff, and seconded by Jim. No discussion. Motion passes.
Motion to appoint Nelson French to the open spot in Harrisville Township as an official Precinct Delegate by Jeff, and seconded by Jess. No discussion. Motion passes.
Motion to appoint Frank Grubbs as a Hardworking Republican, the position of which Frank Grubbs accepts, moved by Jess, seconded by Judy. No discussion. Motion passes.
Save Our Guns Event
Jeff has some tickets for this event put on by the Save Our Guns PAC on April 4, 2025. It’s a great event that we recommend attending. Tickets are $50 each.

Good of the Order:
Judy French
Something going on in Lansing, two bills she thinks, about the school board, what can and can’t be said in the school board and in public comment. It’s censorship outright! She recommends we look into it and see if we can make phone calls, do emails, or even do something locally to prevent this from overtaking us.

The Tureks gave Carrie Mullins a gift basket of chocolates, and the Dobbs’ gave her a certificate of appreciation for all of her hard work as Chair of the Alcona GOP.

Motion to adjourn, called by Jeff, seconded by Judy at 7:43pm. Next open meeting to be held in 2025 when we have a Call to Convention to elect Precinct Delegates to attend the MIGOP Convention to elect their new Chair, at 7pm at the Alcona County EMS building on M72.
