Linda Eberline – Kalitta & Other Updates

Kalitta has imposed a Covid-19 Vaccine Mandate upon it’s employees, to be fulfilled no later than December 12, 2021. If you are not vaccinated by that date, you will be laid off without pay, and will be unable to qualify for unemployment benefits.

Iosco Hospital has started to walk non-vaccinated employees off of their property in East Tawas. Linda talked a little about a “Affidavit Process”, to combat these vaccine mandates issued by employers. Basically, you make them sign an affidavit, that states that should any harm come to you for being forced to choose between your job or the vaccine, the company and the direct person (HR Director) would then be held liable for that harm. For more information about this process, please contact Linda Eberline.

She also commented that there are protests being planned and underway in Iosco County.

Geyer Balog – Candidate for 106 th District Representative

Our current Representative, Sue Allor, is at her Term Limit, and so, Geyer Balog is running to replace her when her term ends. He is currently the Montmorency County Republican Chairperson. He is also a Montmorency County Commissioner. He stands for Vaccine/Medical Freedom, Election Integrity, 2A, etc. He is also advocating for Grant Reform, especially at the County level. He’s for having more power to the County level, versus the State level, so County Commissioners can battle anything handed down to them from the State, should they need to do so. He is homeschooled, and he is only 22 years old. It was great hearing from him, hearing about his ideas, and learning more about his cause.

Redistricting Update – Carrie Mullins

Alcona and Alpena are under the 106th District, and that district might gain Montmorency and Cheboygan Counties.

National Popular Vote Movement – HB5343

There is currently a Bill introduced into the Michigan House of Representatives, by State Representative, Matt Koleszar [D] from the 20th District, which is to enter into the agreement among the States to elect the President of the US by National Popular Vote… versus by the Electoral College as it currently works. This is something we should all look into for ourselves, as it will be on the ballot in 2022, should the Bill itself, sit unaddressed within the Michigan Legislature.

It is important also, to note that Nevada did not pass this, even with a Democrat Governor. On November 3, 2020, Colorado voters were the first State in the Country to vote on this initiative, and they voted for it.

Resolutions & Censure Packet

Carrie has completed the packet. She has a custom cover letter for both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. She plans to mail them out by the end of next week. She’s going to start stuffing the envelopes and do other preparatory steps imminently. She’s also going to email it to all of the State District Chairpersons, as well as to all of the County Chairpersons.

Call to Special Convention

Call to Special Convention will include officially voting into office the Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Deputy Treasurer, Event Planner, Trustee, and other open positions. This convention is to take place at the October 25, 2021 public meeting. Carrie will send out more information via email.
