Meeting Minutes

November 27, 2023

Opening:

The meeting was called to order by Carrie Mullins at the Alcona EMS building on M72 at 7:11pm.

Business:

Pledge of Allegiance & Invocation Given

To start the meeting, we stood and said the Pledge of Allegiance, and an Invocation was given by Andy Jamieson.

Andrew Fink – Candidate for Michigan Supreme Court

Andrew Fink, currently a Representative for Hillsdale County, and running for the Michigan Supreme Court, came to speak to our party. He is running in a non-partisan race. There are currently 7 justices to 8 year terms. He’s running for the partial term that will be up soon. All judge candidates are not permitted to solicit funds, and campaigns cannot do so until a certain date.

Potential Debates in Alpena

Carrie is hoping we can assist with hosting some debates between candidates for different races in Alpena’s Granger Hall.

William makes a motion to sponsor the debates in conjunction with the Alpena GOP, not to exceed $200, should they take place, in liew of the new information about Bruce Heath resigning as Alpena’s GOP Chair (due to health.) Jeff seconds.

Kristina Karamo & Linda Lee Tarver have a rumble thing tomorrow from 7-8pm. They’re going over the party platform. We will share the link on the Facebook page.

Last time we had a meeting, Danica had a speech for the VFW. District 2, and she will let us know if she won the competition. She would be willing to give the speech at one of our future meetings. Congratulations and good luck to Danica!
