March 25, 2024
Opening:
The meeting was called to order by Carrie Mullins at the Alcona EMS building on M72 at 7:10pm.

Business:
Chairman’s Welcome
Carrie welcomed everyone who was in attendance. However, because there wasn’t a quorum to vote on anything regarding business, she reminded everyone that this would be a meeting of discussion only.
Discussion on Presidential Primary Results
Trump won the Presidential Primary, hands down. Nearly 3,000 voters turned out in Alcona County’s Presidential Primary this year. Be sure to check your voting history at CheckMyVote.org .
Discussion on District Convention Results
67% of the entire 1st District went to Houghton Lake, where as the rest went to Grand Rapids. Trump won the delegates. The first official piece of news we received from the Hoekstra team was a notice about Precinct Delegate Allotments.
Discussion on Treasurer’s Report
Carrie made a few deposits into the accounts from sign sales and membership dues.

Discussion on the LRT Annual Dinner
Geyer Balog has reached out to Carrie in hopes of potentially teaming up for this years’ annual LRT dinner, in a multi-county event. Potentially in Mid-May or Mid-June.
Discussion on Precinct Delegate Allotments
Carrie and those in attendance discussed the different ways we could allocate our Precinct Delegate slots. More details to come.
Discussion on an Alcona County Fair Sponsorship
Carrie would love for us to do a sponsorship for the Alcona County Fair again this year. It would be roughly $100. That is on top of the $35 or so for a booth.
Discussion on the Calendar of Events
Carrie handed out the calendar of events. Jess to add those events to the website. Carrie will need someone to handle the driving of the parade float trailer, and run the parade for the day. Jess volunteered to take the reigns of the Adopt-a-Highway clean up events. Flyer and date to come soon.
Good of the Order:
Robert Turek
Bob brought up the housing push in our area and surrounding areas. Would love for the Alcona GOP to sign a resolution that opposes this push for more housing, especially in light of the border crisis and the State of Michigan pushing for people to house illegal aliens. Carrie was not opposed to a resolution being brought forth and put on the next agenda if done by that point for a vote.

- Adopt-a-Highway Cleaup Update
- Annual Dinner Fundraiser (LRT Dinner)
- Other Agenda Items to be Added as Needed
